About me
I am Salvatore Susino, a radiologist. I graduated in Medicine at the University of Catania in 2019 and specialised in Radiology at the Università del Piemonte Orientale in 2025.
Today I work in my own practice in Pozzallo, where I perform ultrasound scans by appointment. If anything in the report is unclear, I will explain it to you.
Registered with the Medical Association of Ragusa (no. 3071).
What I do at the practice
Most of my work is clinical ultrasound — abdomen, thyroid, musculoskeletal, Doppler and more. If your doctor has requested a scan and you can't find it on the site, just call us: often it is simply a different name for the same thing.
How I work
I perform every scan personally. The person who looks at the images is the same person who signs the report and answers your questions.
At the end of the scan I give you the written report and the images, and I explain in plain words what was found. If you bring previous exams, I compare them with today's scan. If another area needs to be checked to answer your doctor's question, I extend the scan: the fee stays the same.
The scans I perform
- Abdomen and urinary tract: abdominal ultrasound, kidneys, bladder and prostate.
- Thyroid and neck: thyroid, neck, lymph nodes.
- Muscles, tendons and joints: musculoskeletal ultrasound, shoulder, knee, ankle and foot.
- Blood vessels: carotid Doppler and lower-limb Doppler.
- Newborns: hip ultrasound.

Before your visit
For a private appointment a doctor's referral is not compulsory. If your doctor has written one, bring it: it helps focus the scan on the right question. Bring previous reports and scans too.
Preparation is only needed for some scans: fasting for an upper or complete abdominal ultrasound, a kidney ultrasound and a Doppler of the aorta or renal arteries, a full bladder for the lower abdomen and urinary tract. You will find the details on the booking page.
