Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral?
For a private exam it is not required. If you have a referral, bring it with you, along with any previous scans: it helps guide the ultrasound.
Do I need to fast?
Only for upper or complete abdominal ultrasound (liver, gallbladder, pancreas) is fasting for 6-8 hours recommended. No preparation is needed for the other exams.
Do I need a full bladder?
Only for lower abdominal, pelvic and urinary tract ultrasound: drink about a litre of water one hour before and do not urinate until the exam.
How long does the exam take?
Usually a few minutes. At the end I give you the report and explain in plain words what was found.
