Why a single fee
Scans are not all alike: a lower-limb Doppler study takes considerably longer than a thyroid scan. The price stays the same all the same, and not by accident: the choice of the right examination should depend on the clinical question, not on what it costs.
What is included
- The scan, performed personally by the radiologist — not by a technician
- The written report, handed to you at the end of the visit
- The images from the examination
- A spoken explanation of what was found, in plain words
- A comparison with your previous scans, if you bring them along
- The receipt
How to pay
At the practice, by card or in cash at the end of the examination. Or online when you book, with a credit card or Google Pay: that way you simply turn up and have the scan.
Frequently asked questions
Is there anything extra to pay for the report?
No. Report, images and explanation are included in the fee. There are no additional items.
What if another area needs to be examined during the scan?
If the examination needs to be extended to answer the clinical question properly, I extend it. The fee does not change.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
For a private appointment it is not compulsory. If you have one, bring it along with any previous scans.
