What it is for
Examines the epicondylar and epitrochlear tendons, the distal biceps tendon and the olecranon bursa. Indicated for tennis or golfer's elbow, pain from repetitive movements, olecranon bursitis or functional limitation after trauma.

You have it if you have tennis or golfer's elbow, pain after repeated movements, swelling on the elbow or after a knock.
How it works
Elbow resting or extended, gel on the skin, the probe exploring the painful area.

We assess the inner and outer tendons of the elbow, the biceps tendon and the bursa over the ulna.

No. This scan needs no fasting and no preparation. If you have previous reports or scans, bring them with you: they help to compare and follow any change over time.

Does the elbow ultrasound hurt?
No, it is painless. The probe is placed on the skin with a little gel. It uses ultrasound, not radiation: it is safe and can be repeated as often as needed, including during pregnancy and in children.
